Balance In Being welcomes you to an evening of community, connection, & reflection through expressive arts therapy. Our gathering we will honor the darkest night of the year by connecting to nature’s wisdom, each other’s, and our own.
A tender place to linger in the liminal between dark & light, day & night, death & re-birth. The winter solstice restarts the cycle of the year, each day following will grow lighter, and longer as the year changes & the earth orbits the sun once again.
Working with the fire element to set intentions for the year ahead as we begin to shift toward the light. Pause, play, & process in deep reflection of 2025.

Need supervision? Join Jen a registered expressive arts therapist and a licensed mental health counselor, and Kyle a registered art therapist and licensed mental health counselor, for a virtual monthly group.

The bodies primal language is movement. The body knows how to communicate, it has always known. Our work is in how to listen. To honor. Our ancient and innate wisdom. I invite you to consider for yourself where in your life it is easy to show up with presence and care, and when it is difficult. Where in the body do you find yourself most connected, and most distant?
We will use our yoga flow to deepen our connection to certain areas of the body and energy systems each week and then linger there with writing invitations to follow.

chakra, yoga sequence, & writing prompts (plus tea, always tea)

Feed your soul, find your power. Give yourself the gift of space and the impact of pause through this one day workshop designed to help you connect with you.
We will begin with embodiment through breath work and vinyasa yoga and then move into narrative and expressive arts therapy activities. Let yourself be guided deeper into the stories about who you are and what that means.
This is ceremony, to create through connection. It is our oldest and most innate way to heal.
Ultimately, we are tellers of tales. We can’t even help it, it’s just how our brains are wired. It’s how we make meaning, how we connect.
Join me to join yourself, in our container of community. This is collective care, this is a radical tending to in slowing down and being with.

Join Jen for an afternoon of balancing in community on Sunday September 21st.
Honoring the equinox is a powerful way to pause in our collective liminality of equal day and night, light and dark. This gathering will start with a cacao ceremony and meditation and move into a yoga flow ending with writing and nature reflections.
Start your season in a soft circle of care.
Ignite your inner flame through this group offering geared toward welcoming the sun in it’s peak solar power. In this half day expressive arts retreat we will linger in the space between spring and summer to honor the light of the longest day.
We will work with the endless cycle of the seasons and the perpetual shifting wheel of the year.
Balance in being is offering two gatherings to honor and celebrate the next shift in the wheel of the year. Join us for your monthly pause through expressive arts therapy in community.
Spring equinox takes place at the moment when night and day are of equal length. Each moment afterwards the sun will be in the sky for a few moments longer shortening the nighttime until we reach summer solstice.
Join balance in being to align with the energy of nature, to experience more alignment and harmony within ourselves.
At sign up, you’ll be asked to pick which gathering you’re signing up for- they will be the sameish (nothing is ever the same twice, different folks bring different energy and we improvise along the way). Thursday the 20th, the actual equinox will take place at Balance in Being’s new home. Friday the 28th will take place where we have been hosting groups at Be Well.

Join Balance In Being in the letter project, a community based effort to address fragmentation and isolation to lead with love, even now. When our worlds feel small and lonely, this invitation serves to remind us that we are not alone.
To honor the last day of February, the month of love, cacao will be offered as a ritual of belonging, of a homecoming to not only yourself but your community.

Join Balance in Being for another night of expressive arts therapy in community. Through meditation and art therapy offerings we will be reflecting on 2024 as we set ourselves in motion for 2025. Catch your breath, check in with yourself, and regroup. Manifest, create, and connect.
The group will be held in the Be Well Community space at 255 Hope Street, Providence, RI.

-be cozy, we are going to sit in meditation, move around the room, and collage on the floor (chairs and surfaces available if the floor is not comfy or accessible)
